The Seven Basins Watershed Council began to organize during the Summer
of 2001 in the void left behind after the dissolution of the Evans Creek
Watershed Council. Much of the credit goes to John Newkirk for the inspiration
and to Gail Perrotti for the research necessary to organize in the model
of councils recognized by the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board and
County government. With the assistance of Amy Wilson from Southern Oregon
Resource Conservation and Development facilitating the public meetings,
Bylaws and Mission Statements were hammered out in time for the first
election of Board Members and Officers in January, 2002.
